Voice Lessons

Who are Voice Lessons for?
Voice lessons are for children and adults. They are for those who like to sing in choirs, belt solos on the stage, or just have fun singing along with the radio. Voice lessons are especially for people who have a tendency to sing along with their ipods on the subway! Your voice is an instrument, and like any instrument, you get the best results and have the most fun when you know how to play it. Voice is also the most popular, most affordable, most portable, and most expressive instrument in the world!

How can Vocal Training help you?
Your voice is the most flexible instrument in the world. It can express words and emotion unlike any other instrument. It is also can increase its range and tone quality with practice! Voice lessons with Sara can help you find your range and start expanding it. She can teach you how to learn songs better by ear and teach you how to read music. She can help you understand music theory better, pronounce words more clearly, sing more loudly, strain your voice less, and even how to read other languages for pronunciation in singing. Sara is classically trained and can help you with opera, sacred classics, choral pieces, and hymns. She also helps students perform pop and musicals. Whether you are a soloist, a choir member, or a shy shower singer, voice lessons can give you the skills to feel more confident and have more fun while you sing.

Where, When, and How Much?
Sara teaches most lessons in her apartment, conveniently located on Route 3A (Hancock Street) in the Wollaston neighborhood of Quincy. Her home is an easy walk from the Wollaston T Station and Eastern Nazarene College. For an extra fee, she may be able to travel to the student's home in the city or on the South Shore.

Ideally, voice lessons will be once a week or once every other week. Students are encouraged to practice a little every day, just like any other instrument student.

Voice lessons are $15 for a half hour lesson or $30 for an hour. Payment is expected at each lesson. Students may purchase multiple lessons in advance, if that is more convenient for the student. Cash and checks are accepted. Some schools' music departments provide private lesson scholarships for students.
